Zoetic is the current ambient vocal project of vocalist/composer, Dréa Drury. Fascinated with the potentials of sound from an early age, most of Dréa’s inspirations and teachings come from experiences she had growing up in a remote area of British Columbia. Silence and the music of nature have nurtured Dréa’s intimate understanding of sound since birth. She believes that everything about sound and music can be learned from the observation of Gaia, and can be accessed if one listens carefully enough in a receptive state of silence.

After studying composition at a traditional college, while recording and performing original material, Dréa’s intrigue of music led her to study esoteric applications of sound (meta-sound). While living in San Francisco, she completed a certificate in Psychoacoustics (the effects of music and sound on the human nervous system) and Sound Healing from the Globe Institute, as well as studies in esoteric music theory and shamanic sound practices. She has trained under some of the leading figures in the field of Psychoacoustics and Sound Therapy including Tom Kenyon, Joshua Leeds, Jill Purce, and the Kairos Institute.
During recent years, she has also dedicated herself to the study of North Indian Classical vocal music and Sound Yoga with Ali Akbar Khan, Shweta Jhaveri and Silvia Nakkach.
Using shamanic sound and voice techniques, along with an intimate knowledge of the principles of Psychoacoustics, Drea practices the evolving art of using sound to tune the systems of the body. During a private sound session or performance, Dréa’s main focus is to create a space where people can easily transcend conventional perceptions of their internal/external worlds, therefore facilitating a remembrance of archetypal sound.
