Richard Scott is a composer and producer based in Berlin and Manchester. He works mostly with analogue synthesizers, electronics and processing, soprano saxophone, wind synthesizers and Buchla lightning midi controllers.
His work ranges from experimental electro-acoustic music with shakuhachi player Clive Bell, dance and pop music production with Mr Thompson and Edward Barton, through to ambient electronic music. Aside from his studio projects, such as Heartmap and Atlas of Bells, he performs electronic improvised music with Twinkle3 and Grutronic and Evan Parker.
He works with choreographers and dancers, recently playing music with improvising dancers and teachers, such as Katie Duck and Kirstie Simpson, and for contact improvisation jams in Berlin, Freiburg, Göttingen and Stolzenhagen. His projects for ambientmusicgarden concentrate on the more ambient, meditative side of his output and on his collaborations with artists such as RK Benedict and David Ross. He also works as a Bowen Therapist.
Water and Sky is a suite of connected ambient pieces composed and performed along with RK Benedict on piano and keyboards specifically with therapy, meditation and relaxation in mind. A chance for the mind to roam, its an airy watery piece with the rhythm of waves, it leaves the ground and doesn't really come back again.
Music for Contact was composed specifically for use with Contact Dance Improvisation classes and jams and other Dance and Movement in mind. A varied collection of moods, atmospheres and rhythms, it is also intended to mirror the shape of a dance class, with an introduction, warm up, sequences and a warm down section.
