From a very early start I was always interested in music , there always seemed to be an instrument hanging around the house, albeit an old slightly strung guitar or an old out of tune piano, nevertheless they all contributed to an increase in my thirst to play something.
That thirst eventually quenched itself on a brand new classical guitar and lessons to boot, from here there was no looking back. Lessons at school and many hours of playing along with Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and the man himself, Mike Oldfield was soon happening. |
I then discovered how to record myself playing several instruments at once, this was performed with two cassette decks wired together and suddenly I was creating instrumental music, although in others eyes or ears it only just resembled that thing called music, but to me it was a magic moment.
A few years later I joined a touring band playing London and most of the well known towns in the southern part of the country, this gave me the grounding I needed and the confidence to play better as well as the ability to play live.
The band lasted a few years, I then co founded another band which in short, took us around the globe and into many big name studios such as Abbey Rd, Master Rock and Eden, recording and releasing albums, singles and doing the video thing, which was immense fun, hard times but made some great friends in the process also.
In between this and trying to make a living, I was also working as a studio engineer, recording some of the up an coming bands from in and around the Cambridge area. Again quenching my thirst for recording.
To this date it is still being quenched, only now I have stopped playing live and concentrate on writing music. |
